Re: Synergy Capacitors
So does that mean they are the same as the next gen SoZo caps? Hi Mark, This is what I told, yes; that they are the same construction as the original line of SoZos. I only have spoken word on that but don't know who is making them. The Synergy caps are reported to be made in the US. Some months ago...

Re: Synergy Capacitors
Me too. But prices are too high... so i changed, i have luck nowadays with axial TAD Mustard caps (probably also chinese, cheap, but sounding very nice), looks good too :P Yes, I haven't bought any in a long time. I have not tried the TAD caps, but good to know they sound good. I believe the Vishay...

Re: Synergy Capacitors
font , colors, quite bad printing and shape looks like Sozo Yes, they do, but I was told that they split off from Sozo when Sozo went overseas and is the same capacitor as a Sozo before they went overseas and made in the US. I do like the sound of the Sozos (at least the old ones I still have from ...

Synergy Capacitors
Does anyone know who manufactures Synergy capacitors? I spoke with Robert from Valvestorm a while back and he said that they are made in the US and the Synergy brand formed after Sozo went overseas (China or Taiwan). He said they are the same as what a Sozo was before they went overseas, just US mad...

Can't help you with making up your mind, but that (5E9A?) board above your 50W chassis is pretty sweet

Re: Any magic in the Paraphase inverter?
Thank you for your replies, gentlemen. I am going with the paraphase inverter. Planning to add a plate load trimmer resistor (across the 220k/220k anode pair), as well as a (10k) trimmer resistor between the 220k/220k grid leak and tap point. I'm thinking of placing the Tremonator just after the pre...

Any magic in the Paraphase inverter?
I've got a mashup project on the table. Tremolux "big box" Tweed cab, 60W Alnico speaker, chrome chassis screen-printed for a Tremolux 5E9A circuit. Slightly modified Tremolux preamp, Steve Luckey's Tremonator trem circuit, and either the 5E9A's paraphase or just a standard long-tailed pair PI (with...

Phase inverter: C17 250pF C10 .022uF R45 10k C38 .0047uF Presence pot 25k. R26 Jumper Delete Depth Pot C35 .001uF goes to SPKR Jack Tip Xenrelic, Thanks for posting that. Billy Howerdel has killer tone. So, no feedback resistor? Just the capacitive divider 1n->10n/4k7? Do you know if this is on the...

Re: Broken 5E3 for sale locally - worth checking out?
I agree. The asking price is absurd. You can build a top notch example of the amp using the best transformers, parts, and a well-lacquered tweed cabinet for that. Most so-called kits are a way to get into the hobby, but are often designed around a price point and not necessarily the best representat...

This amp looks like it may have started life as an Edge signature 5E3, but that's just a guess

Re: Stirs Neural pot
The problem with society now is firmware. Firmware is the best thing to happen to hardware since chrome plating. Who would have thunk the Helix I bought years ago would keep getting better and better? I get the whole thing where these devices are great when you have to cover a lot of different band...
