Re: The Lost Art of Cable Lacing
Man, those zip ties will cut you up working inside a rack. Some cutters leave a sharp edge when shearing off the excess. -Another good thing about lacing!

Re: The Lost Art of Cable Lacing
DC plant wires are still being somewhat laced in ISP/cable hub headends. They don’t use zip ties, everything tied off using the waxy rope.

Yup, not a gimmick. More like an antenna.
That would suck if your identity was stolen from the amp made on the cheap, but as Dylan said "if you ain't got nothin', you've got nothin' to lose."

Re: Hum when connecting to input
Well also any of the coupling caps right after the plate of V1a, V1b or V2a could be leaky and passing low DC voltage down stream to the next gain stage. Unsolder the down stream end of each of these cap and see if you measure any dc voltage above .035. If you start by lifting the down stream end o...

Re: Benson Monarch
Reverb transformer is not used in this design. It has a 12DW7 CF stage that feeds an ~800 ohm Z tank. Most of the reading is related to quirks that needed ironing out per particular build and correct component values. But I think this project is worthy of the read, as many have appeared to have succ...
