Own It
Since you own the amp just put a more efficient speaker in it. Most offerings from eminence are VERY efficient. You want one that OVER 100db and not too bright since that amp is already a major ice pic. Loudest http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=Swamp_Thang http://www.eminence.co...

Re: Looking for Suggestions on a Twin RI
I don't even like old Twins. Sell it. Or gut it and start over with a better circuit. Almost anything with character would be better in my opinion. But I know not everyone agrees. +1 They are the accepted backline because they are readily available and they are LOUD ! However. I have a Low Powered ...

Scoop Mids
With the interactive controls were you aware that if you turn the volume control up to around 2:00 on the channel that you are not plugged into that you will scoop the mids and get a cleaner and louder sound ?

No
I wouldn't mess with it. I would sell it.
Silverface Twins are cheap and plentiful. I would fix up one of those.

Up
It's very cool to be able to turn your tone knob up on this amp because then you get more gain & sustain. Interactive controls !

Shuguang
Has it been discussed which KT66's you guys prefer? I only have the one set and want to get some more any suggestions? Mark Bruce Collings turned me on to Shuguang KT66s several years ago when I wanted to fatten my tweed Super 5F4. I dig 'em in most everything I've tried. They had a sale on 'em a w...

KT's
KT's are pretty cool.
I use 'em in a Weber Tweed Pro,cathode bias.
I also use 'em in a Victoria Low Power Tweed Twin.
Shuguangs.

Fine
Hey,don't overthink it.
I am up and down with my guitar volume & tone constantly depending on the song, pickup combination, etc.
No volume pedals,clean boost,etc.,thanks.
The low input jack would destroy the dynamics.
It's workin' GREAT !
Thanks,
JJ

12DW7
OK.Thanks for explaining WHY it is not a good idea. It sounded ok though. If I had run it for a long time one of the power tubes would have worn out BEFORE the other one ? :?: Anyway,I ended up with a RCA 12ay7 in v1,a GE 5751 in v2,and a GE 5751 PI. I'm runnin' 2 american 6v6 "pulls" and a JJ 5ar4....

5751
So v1 sets the gain for both channels. I rarely use the tremolo. I messed around before I read these posts and ended up with 12ay7,12ay7,12ax7. Tomorrow I'll try 5751 in v2 with the ax7 PI. I'll also try 12ay7,5751,5751. Would that be the cleanest setting that makes electronic sense ? Thanks, JJ
