Re: This is cool..

That's what I thought too. But no starve switch near the accent. Alexander must've built more than one (tubes up ODS)! By the size of the suede baffle it looks to be taller too! Maybe bigger transformers than EJ's ODS. Maybe P/P 6650's with a A-431. Just speculation. LOL. Hey, that's not suc...

Re: What is a Mega Plex?

There are two "items" called the "Megaplex" one is a mod/tuning found on marshall circuits. The other is the OD of a Ripper HRM.

Re: The Definitive Dumble Album

Although I haven't broken them out in a while, IMO, "Renegade Gentleman" and "Texas Flood" NEED to be in the mix on a thread of "definitive" Dumble albums. :D

Re: Mid Plate iterations and asymmetrical Rp/Rk ratios

Tony Dave and Tom, Thanks for sharing and informing my perspective. I agree that symmetrical/asymmetrical clipping isn't the goal. I'm curious about implementation of non-1/66 Rp/Rk networks in the whole of the circuit as frequency response, tone, etc. go. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks so muc...

Mid Plate iterations and asymmetrical Rp/Rk ratios

I've been working up a first-generation build for a while now, And in research I've found interesting Rp/Rk iterations. Some HAD built, some by others. So, two questions: For all the guys that have been in actual ODS have you come across any mid-plate iterations (i.e. 150k/180k or 135k/135k etc.) th...

Re: Dynaco/Hafler P/P Plexi.

Does this mean that the 200mA rating of the p782 is under rated as well since for a 100w amp we should be looking at 400mA to 500mA rating. Perhaps the p782 is happy unless we stress it. :) Mark Thanks Mark! If things work out, I plan to stress it! :D The charts for the p782 specify 800v @ ...

Dynaco/Hafler P/P Plexi.

I wanted to field thought and opinions on using Dynaco P782 and A470 for a mean high B+ P/P plexi. SS rectified and KT-77's for a >100w P/P amp. Was thinking of using the C354 (1.5H) choke. Should I look into a C1999? The p782 is 800v ct @ 200 ma, 6.3v @ 5A. 5V recto tap for a Dumble-style "mega boo...

Re: Three Dumbles at estate sale/auction.

Hmm. I'm now seeing this pic was posted on Jelle Welagen's FB page. The middle amp is a Welagen and the other two were borrowed by Doug Doppler. I'm wondering if they did this to get people to show up to the auction. If so, I'm sure there will be a few ticked off guitarists. I'm sure there will be....

Re: Clapton's Dumble On the Bandstand

As usual Jelle with the great ears calls it.

I just read that this is a Bluesmaster combo that was previously for sale at TGP then consigned to Gruhnʻs. Also, according to someone in the loop with HAD, EC also owns an Ultra-Phonix Marshall head as well!
