Re: Trainwreck Parts; 25w 1K Cement Resistors?

After reading this thread, I looked at the schems from blueguitar and had a question: I'll probably try to tackle building a Trainwreck sometime in the next several months but I think I'd like to try building it with a tube rectifier, so would you still need to use a 25W 1k resistor, or does the rec...

Re: Where to buy wire

I tried the lacquer covered stuff once and hated it. You can still push it back, but it's a lot thicker. And it seems no matter how sharp you cut the stuff it ends up getting frayed. Maybe others here have used it successfully and like it, but I'll not be using it again.

Re: Pre/Post PI master?

I have an '82 Marshall 2204 that David Bray modded up for me a couple of years ago (plexi/vh brown mod). It uses a PPIMV and I like it -- a lot. It's my understanding that it acts as a master until it is dimed, then it's out of the circuit -- and LOUD! I say if you know how to do it, give it a try.

Re: WHAT TUBE SOCKETS TO BUY?

I just did a quick search and discovered some complaints. I've been doing business with them for a couple of months now (almost weekly) and while their shipping is a little slow, I haven't had any problems with them yet. Mark seems like a pretty nice guy who's eager to help. Just my .02 FWIW.

The owner's name is Mark and he's a pretty nice and helpful guy.
