Re: Line out vs pwr scaling

That reminds me of someone using dynamic dummy load made from a coneless speaker or something. Assume it helps address the loading issue so that line out will sound more like the amp.

Line out vs pwr scaling

I've been toying with the idea of implementing pwr tube VVR in my amp to get bedroom level recording/playing . While the info online re VVR is appealing and befor I build a circuit, how might the VVR sound compare/differ to what a typical 2 resistor voltage divider at the speaker output as in a fend...

Re: Output impedance and flyback voltage

Ok... so the arcing happened within the tube itself while playing.... just a bad tube. Doesn't GT test these things? Isn't that why we pay the big bux?

Output impedance and flyback voltage

I've been running a pair of 6L6s in a 20 watt 1-12" PP combo (fender princeton reverb ll) without any issues for over a year (the amp was designed for 6v6s but I rebuilt the bias to suit the change to 6L6s. Upon changing to a fresh pair of 6L6s one of the tubes shorted out internally...nice lightsho...

anyone familiar with the Mojave Coyote Amp?

I'm curious about The Coyote's approach to tone control (or absence of typical tone controls) Any one have experiance with this model? From the homepage sound clips this amp sounds more than allright ...warm smooth OD. The blendable prevoiced channels seems cool. Here is the writ up from the Mojave ...

What to do with the extra triode?

Many, if not all of the trainwreck clones use only 2 and 1/2 dual triodes in the preamp. What might be done with the unused triode? Parallel it with the other half to help reduce noise? Add an extra input stage with marshall values? Make it a switchable extra gainstage? (does a franchesca need that?...

1meg vol. pot vs 500K ?

1meg vol. pot vs 500K ?
Cant readilly buy suitable pots here and need to replace a couple of 1meg volume pots. I have some 500k pots that were intended for guitar. Will these do?
What might be the difference in tone amd or response?

Re: Anyone figure out the PA blend control?

It would seem that amp is both a black face fender and an 18 watt marshall under one roof but the power amp is solid state. Not quite the same topology as what I'm dealing with.
Cool amp though...shame they hade to quit.

Re: two heads/one speaaker ?

An a/b box specifically made for the out put you say.
Kinda tells me there is more at play here than what I thought.

Anyone figure out the PA blend control?

I'd like to blend a #4 SE (???) el84 parallel with my x2 6l6 PP Output section
(Me thinks the Rebel 20 amp is capable of this)
and possibly control the amount of blend with an expression pedal.

I know.... just a/b another amp !!!! ok ok but I like tweaking better.

Any ideas?
