Met Allan back in the 70s. A nice, genuine guy with amazing guitar skills.
Only 70 years old.
Awful news.

Re: no comment
Nice to see Ken get some recognition to the masses.
Unfortunate they showed a Ceriatone gut shot. I'm sure it sounded close to an original...

Re: Reducing gain in a wreck?
All the above are great ways to adjust where the clean to mean happens.
The stock circuit clips from back to front - power/PI/pre. Worth keeping in mind.
Skill with the guitar is a must to bring out the best.
The Express is a humbling experience for a hack like me.

Once again RJ goes the extra mile. Respect.
Highly recommended straight in or as a pedal platform Redshark.

Man that looks good.
I've never been a fan of the cap stack in conventional TW clones. Are you going that route?
Some sexy components used there. I've pulled up a chair.

Admission..
Reading series current (act or D.C.) I usually forget to plug the positive lead into the A socket on the meter.
Might just be me.

A lot of us here have built the Rockster & Rockster Addus Reverbus with great results.
Just sayin.

I do like the later "noiseless" pickups for strats. Lace are up there too.

Re: Rocket low end and midrange
Lots of us have used ClassicTone iron - with good results.
I think it was RJ who named Rocket "Fat Bottomed Girl" Lots of low end. I've never had to dink with the stock circuit much.
Mark Fowler is the TAG Rocket Man so I'll let him comment on best methods for knocking some of the bottom end off.

Re: Adding Lar-Mar type II master volume to my Rocket
Congrats - very nice build. They can be loud so a PPIMV helps a lot for lower volume situations. I understand about the Liverpool not being your thing. Not really a pedal friendly platform either, whereas the Rocket is a great pedal platform. The Liverpool is on the edge of stability when it sounds ...

Re: komet like amp layout
50/50 plates, 32/32 screens, 22,22,22 from there. 220k bleeders on 1 & 2. Heaters elevated about 75v. Bourns 10 turn - good eyes Tony - I know it's not necessary but... I got the chassis from Allyn. Thick like 1/8" with welded triangular blocks in the corners. Might bump the power up to 60w or so wi...

Re: komet like amp layout
A couple of pics of my Komet type build.
Simple, direct KF design.
Still needs a couple of things tidied up before I box it up. Grommets & cap clamps etc.
In fast mode it'll strip paint...

I like it as is.
