Personally I hate wiring heaters. I have always done it first to get it over with. Tuck or fly - don't have a preference. On my latest build I've left the heaters till last. Sure enough I avoided finishing it up today... My dumb question for today. I get that twisting heater wires together has a can...

I have used shielded wire for this before. Not sure it was necessary.
I also grounded the presence pot to its own tie point on the chassis - close to the pot & that helped tremendously with hum.

I'm betting it's plenty loud.
I had pretty good success with a VVR1 scaling the whole amp on a 4 holer.
