Thanks for the heads up Greg. Yes, that is one of my 500" nhra Pro Stock engines. Engine development and drag racing was my first passion, and as much as I loved the amps, Im home now...lol I miss all of my friends in the amp and music world. Luckily I get to stay in touch with some of them from tim...

Re: Vote for your favorite OPT

Cool. This goes to show you the difference in taste. I have done the same shootout with 3 of the 4 OT's, and for me, and my old Marshall tastes, the MM stuff is way to polite. In teh room with the amp, switching from 1 to the next to the next, the MM has a blanket over it. Would it be good for a smo...

Re: Low voltages on my Bluesmaster.

you can change the dropping resistors between each node , but with your wall only being 117, the voltages will be a tad low compared to the wall being 120, which is generally where voltage readings are for comparison.

Re: troubleshooting

I would wonder if you are overheating the little switch for the PAB? those little switches dont take much heat at all before they have issues. I know im guilty of rendering a few of them useless

sorry for being an ass, and not checkin in here once in awhile... I am using WGS for my speakers. I have had great luck with them, and honestly couldnt be happier with the results. My stuff is not just relabled. I use a proprietary cone, and from what they have told me its a different coil, a...

Re: Mallory 150's, white vs yellow?

to your original question, as far as i can tell, the white 150's and the yellow 150s sound the same.
And some people like the 150's tone. more expensive doesnt always + better tone.

Re: PI grid leaks

I tried the bootstrap master. I didnt like it at all. I guess for a high gain amp its probably good, but it didnt sound or feel "natural" to me, and it took away the presence "sizzle" in a marshall style amp.

Re: What to do with the extra triode?

I use it as a footswitchable extra gain stage in one amp. Its not a direct express clone, but started from that. you have to be careful with it.....

Re: Tube identification - Pinnacle EL34

that would be a siemens el34. RFT,telefunken, siemens etc all used them, and they resold them to most anyone.

good el34's but they dont really like high plate voltage.

Re: redpalting...need suggestions please

i would first swap those tubes with the ones on the other side, to see if the redplating follows the tubes, or stays in the same location. you may just have a bad tube. If it stays in that location, then you can start to blame oscillation or something. Now by the "100k resistors to v1", do you mean ...
