Re: soliciting input re: resistor brands for my first Marshall build
Metroamp also added few metal oxide resistors 3W in their version, maybe for a reason :) they used 2w MOs for voltage dropping in the power supply. but the MOs do not sound as good as CF or CC here Nonsense , lies I tell you ! Mox are reliably superior in all aspects ! I rebuke you cork sniffers !

Re: soliciting input re: resistor brands for my first Marshall build
Just go ahead and use nothing but generic metal films everywhere , with some generic polypropylene caps , all the expert engineers rave they can’t tell any difference! Don’t bother critically listening to anything , just believe them! There’s no point to even having a vintage Marshall because all pa...

Re: Robben Ford & His Dumble Overdrive Special
Here is a video of him playing the amp live back in 1988. I believe that is his dumbleator sitting on top of it. I noticed the amp did sounded a little darker here with the dumbleator. It still sounds amazing!! I wonder if the ageing of the components over time also changed the sound of the amp. ht...

Re: Robben Ford & His Dumble Overdrive Special
I may be the minority , but I honestly can’t vibe with the top end of 102 . Feels like a cavity is being filled , so says the resident critical ear of my wife , and I have to concur . It may have all the other magic 3d dumble note articulation and chord clarity , but I far prefer other examples of t...

Re: Starting to populate the chassis....
I commend Dragon1 for the humble reply. Crazy cool chopper! I don’t usually like that sort of stuff , but that’s a pretty tasteful design !
With workmanship like that by the time you are done building this amp you will probably outpace us all! Cheers , happy to hang out here with you !

Yikes… With all due respect , please let me say this : The ampgarage is a treasure trove of knowledge, built upon the blood sweat and tears of the truly passionate and arguably that few deserve, yet here we all are learning and growing with it on a daily basis . So in it’s honor let’s stay humble an...
