Does anyone here know of any facts that would support the hypothesis that the Dumbleland 300SL is "AC coupled"?

Re: Dumbleland Overdrive Special!!!

It could of course be that these potentiometer knobs are no longer the original ones (as is the case with the DL-150W #009, for example). On the other hand, you can also see unusual potentiometer knobs on other Dumblelands (for example DL-150W #008). "unfamiliar ... wording": The Dumbleland Special ...

Re: Dumbleland Overdrive Special!!!

Since we are on Dumbleland topic, does anyone have any more intel on this specimen? Because of the 11-step filters (similar to the filters in the later SSS 150W amplifiers) I would suspect that this is one of the later Dumbleland Special 150W amps with serial numbers above about # 010. A rear view ...

Re: Dumbleland Overdrive Special!!!

@talbany: Your question was: Has anyone else here noticed that the amps ... [Max: 150W with 4/8/16 OT] .... that have Dumbleland written on them don't seem to have a Presence control? ... Do we know why that is??. My answer (in a nutshell): I don't know "why that is". But I don't find it par...

Re: Dumbleland Overdrive Special!!!

As far as I can remember, A. Dumble built the Dumbleland "DL-150VG" in the mid-eighties, at a time when - for whatever reason - the vast majority of his amplifiers were already equipped with a "Presence" control. A. Dumble built the "Dumbleland" Overdrive Special # 006 discussed in this thread at a ...

Re: Dumbleland Overdrive Special!!!

The reasons why A. Dumble initially equipped the vast majority of his amplifiers with an "Accent" or "Mid Accent" switch, and only later (late seventies/early eighties) switched to equipping them with a "Presence" control (be it as a modification or from the beginning) are not known to me.
