The Bogner Cube and it's clone, the Crate Blue Voodoo B112V. I have 2 of the Crates. Excellent!

Re: lowering the plate volts ?
I would switch the power transformer for one with a desired secondary voltage. I would think that a used one could be found to save money, but I could be wrong. There are plenty of choices/options for new replacement. Brian Wallace has comprehensive data page here: http://www.marstran.com/Historic%2...

Re: Dlite 22 too dark and clean mod?
Where's the "un-clean" coming from:
The preamp, the PI, or the output stage?
You can reduce the gain in the preamp with lower gain tubes.
If the output stage is distorting, you need a bigger amp.

Re: Three Celestion G12 Speakers compared
I just bought a Century Vintage on sale at Parts Express. I really like it, but then I like Vintage 30's. It is quite articulate clean and dirty.

Re: Bluesmaster rev6 layout plate resisters reversed?
I can tell you that #206 (HRM) has 220/150 and 180/120 on the plates of the two preamp tubes. I cannot confirm Bluesmaster values.

Re: Plexi-800 amp to pair with my mhartman based SSS hybrid
Many years ago, I built an ODS into an old Super Reverb chassis. I put a second preamp in because I had room: JTM45 style preamp. I could select either preamp, which then fed the OD section. I liked it, but the tonal difference between the preamps was significant. My suggestion would be to try it fo...

Steve:
I just had to comment: I love the use of chokes in that supply! It's quite unlike the typical classic guitar amp power supply, but a beautiful example of something old and different.
Thanks for sharing that one.

Re: LETS FACE IT
To pick up from Marcos: I gig 2-4 times a month. It's a sick kind of fun for me to crank up my rig to see what it does in each setting. We stage mix everything and mic only the kick and the vocals 80% of the time: small clubs...hell, loud restaurants... Sometimes for me, the biggest decision I make ...
