Re: Bluetone Express Baby ready
Another fine looking amp Harry! Great work. I too added a PPIMV and a VVR (whole amp is regulated) to my new plexi amp and I love the level of control. Presently, I mostly leave the PPIMV cranked but it is nice to have the option to back it off if so desired to change the tone a bit.

Re: Ten Turn Bias Pot and Bias Test Terminals
Sorry I can't help you with the 10-turn bias pot but Mouser has Keystone test points. The Red ones are here: http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=6019virtualkey53400000virtualkey534-6019 ...and the Black ones here: http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=6020virtualkey53400000...

Re: C9 orientation in the express.
I'm wondering why the C9 capacitor in the Express is oriented the way it is. At first glance, I'm thinking it would be easier to turn it 90 degrees, so it goes straight to R10, without the extra wire. But I guess KF had a reason to put it exactly like he did instead. Can anyone tell me why?? In stu...

Jochen, Your build looks incredible!! Great work! I have saved your PDF as a reference and for inspiration. Can you please tell me how you get your heater wiring to look that way? I use a drill to twist the wires but how do you make the runs down to the tube from the "main lead" appear to just come ...

Re: Single-Parallel-Single switch to amp input
Harry, the switch will feel lonely in your parts box without a mod to call home Maybe you can use it for a 3-way bright switch (100/250/500pf)?harryk wrote:Unfortunately I already ordred one on-on-on switch, but maybe I can use it somewhere else in future my projects. Harry

Re: Single-Parallel-Single switch to amp input
I ended up skipping it and using one input jack, I jumpered the Bright and Dark channels permanently, and just went with the cascade switch instead. Would there be any difference between a channel select switch and just turning the volume down for each channel? Just for fun I built this amp : http:...

Re: Logo to stick onto the front of my maple cab
I would like to have a 3D type (not too thick) logo made saying "The Vortex" or "Vortex" for my liverpool's new head case that is almost done. After I design it, where are some places I can send it to to have the placard/logo made? Also, are the logos usually peel off adhesive? i want to stick it i...

Re: Novella-A Liquid Earth CD
HeeBGB, Thanks a lot for posting these tracks and the supporting information! I'm really interested in building an Express but appreciate getting to hear other examples of KF's amps. I haven't worked my way through all of them yet, but was inspired to comment. On In the House, the intro arpeggiated ...

Re: Single-Parallel-Single switch to amp input
Hey guys! Here is maybe another way to skin a cat. This way you ground the input of the unused channel and save two resistors. Colossal, your drawing was so good that I took the liberty to use that as template in my example. I hope you don't mind. Ville No, I don't mind at all, and your method is f...

Re: Single-Parallel-Single switch to amp input
Harry, I'm glad it was of use. I too like the idea of switching options just to satisfy my tonal curiosity and experimental nature. My amp has a number of switches to change voicing, bright, fat, cascade, etc. A lot of this interest comes from my lack of experience so I wanted to have a platform tha...

Re: Single-Parallel-Single switch to amp input
Hi Harry, I am building a Mark Huss 6V6 Plexi. I originally had planned to incorporate such a switch in my amp but ultimately decided against it, though I still think it would be quite interesting to hear the differences in tone. Anyway, I ran the idea by the experienced builders on ppwatt.com and w...

Re: modded Wreck
Very nice dude! The amp has a nice midrange honk/bite to it. I enjoyed the legato stuff at the end of the clip, nice flow of notes: you can hear the musicality of the amp. I would also enjoy seeing gut and overall shots if you can post them. Sounds very nice, good work.

Ampwares problems
This is kind of a bummer for a second post to Ampgarage, but I also made the mistake of ordering [grounding lugs and a couple of fuses] from Ampwares back in May to the tune of about $20. I have had the exact same outcome as 'Guns and others here: voicemail box full, rejected emails, nothing in the ...
