Ceriatone Express clip

Post by gtrwun »

Ive had this amp for a few weeks now, and im still in love. This is my ultimate amp. Ill post some pics when the Head cab is done, but for now, I do have a clip of her doing some basic AC/DCish chords. My playing was subpar on this, and I left the mistakes, but the idea was the tone of the amp. The volume was at 10 o'clock on the amp, and my volume was backed off on the guitar to about 7/8. VHT 2X12 cab,G12H's,Gibson Hawk guitar, my own pickups,SM57 direct to Guitar Tracks Pro 3.This amp will do so much more than this,as many of you know. Thanks.... :)

That's some fat tone alright! I like how the notes of a chord are discernable. How come it says'"0.49" and I got more like 2 minutes worth of music? Lucky I guess.Did you double the rythm guitar tracks to make stereo? The Guitar Pro software is more than adequate . I have that too but I think I need a better sound card cause all I can do is use 1/4" to 1/8" conversion cables. That's kinda weak IMO.

10 o' clock volume...
guitar pot on 7.....

what about diming both the guitar and the trainwreck? How much gain will you get?!?!?

Doesn't it have few headroom?

Great tone thought. I'm still deciding with Ceriatone: Express or 50w plexi.

Bye.

Thanks guys.........havent been on for a while, so I didnt catch your comments. Yeah....I did my own pickups on this guitar. I bought all the stuff from Stewart Macdonald online. Its a bit of an investment, but its actually kind of fun to do in your spare time. It takes some patience, and some practice to get it right.

I did double the parts to make it thicker. Some would consider that cheating, but I always double my parts when I record, so I really wanted to see how the parts would layer on top of each other.

I understand the question about headroom........all I can say is after about 12 oclock on the volume control it doesnt really get louder. It just compresses, and distorts more and more, and also it increses the hiss substantially. The reason I had the volume backed off to 7/8 on the guitar is because thats really the only way to control the amount of gain/distortion in this amp. So at 7/8 you can get a pretty good crunch rhythm sound happening, and turn it full up for solo's. I cant wait to play this thing with my band. That wont happen for another month so Ill report back on the results, but im sure it will perform as expected.

Hey Jimi...I think the ticket for your troubles on the download would be if your connection is slow, you need to pause the clip and let it buffer for about 5 minutes. It should play after that. If not.......give me a shout, and ill e-mail the file to you. Thanks for the comment Prepy.... :P

Thanks for the sweet clip. I'm waiting for a complete Ceriatone Express amp myself, and this makes the waiting easier. Also, now I'm sure I didn't order the wrong amp 8)

Ahhhhhhhh....hey 5150...Celestion G12H's on the speakers for this clip. That little VHT Fatbottom 2x12 can throw out some serious grind when you ask it to. Nice little cab. Thanks for the comment...Steve :)
