Dumble Modified Fender Bassman

Post by WhopperPlate »

Hello everyone!

I have a friend who is looking to sell his Dumble Modified Fender Bassman , and the amp garage is first place that popped into my head to ask around.

Not the original owner, he has had it for a few decades *edit : original owner bought it late 60s early 70s. He sold it to another person who had it serviced by Dumble himself for repairs. It was later sold at a yard sale in Santa Clara. Later it was sold to the current owner in 2007 at the Santa Cruz flea market.

Pictures appears to show hand written serial number “D12” *edit : d120 in reference to replacement speaker dumble installed

If anyone has any interest or can lead a guy in the right direction for further details and interest it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers yall

Very cool, thanks for sharing. Does he have an asking price in mind?

Hi Charlie,

Some people here may be privy to more detail on what these actually sell for. You rarely see one of these amps sell on reverb or eBay etc where you know the final price. I imagine they trading for a good discount on the published asking prices. I understand there are a lot of Febder mods out there. I'd guess something like $20-25K would be fair. But who knows.

Wishing your friend good luck!

Don't want to sound like a jerk but this section is for building and studying Dumble circuits. Not for selling things. The for sale section might be a better place for this or Reverb.com.

Agree If you can post pics of the inside we can help to verify it's authenticity here.

(This shouldn't hurt the resale value of the amp btw.)

Why don't you want it? Or are you not a guitar player.
