Thanks for sharing!
Great sound and playing! 8)
Do you have more clips?

May I ask one question: is it really 2-4 µF (not nF?) from EL84 Anode to gnd?

Peace,

Markus

This is really interesting. I had been hoping that something like this would come along, but had just about given up. I was intending to get one of these
http://www.ampmaker.com/store/Double-Si ... ifier.html
and had been thinking about how to add in an o/d section.

Since I'm not terribly knowledgeable about things electronic, and I've only ever built kits, a scratch build is probably beyond my abilities, but I think I could just about manage to do something like this especially if I could use the output section of the Double Six kit.

Markus, you are right it's 2 to 4nF depending on your Taste.
Thank you for the correction.

At the moment I don't have more Clips available. What are you interested in?

@10thTx: could you correct the schematics accordingly?
Thanks in Advance.

If you happen to have the chance to record a clip with Strat that would be great. :)

One more question: how do you like the tone control of the clean channel when in OD?
Thanks again for sharing your work!

Markus

2-4µF on the cap on the EL84 plate to ground.
What does that mean?

Per earlier post request, ............... I already changed the schematic to reflect a .002-.004 cap from EL84 plate to ground?
Markus, you are right it's 2 to 4nF depending on your Taste.
What should it be?

I am understanding this to be that the currently posted schematic is correct? I changed it to the current one after you requested me to do so.

Just post a reply if it needs to be changed from the current schematic, otherwise, I will presume it is currently correct.

Thanks, 10thtx

Oh Snap!

Sorry my bad, I missed the n part on the 2-4

Which translates to .002-.004µF

Nice sounding little amp, thanks for sharing. Thank you 10thtx for the drawings.

A couple of points of interest on the drawings:

1) I do not see the 220k/500pF that stands between the volume wiper and grid (pin 7) of V1b on the layout. It's on the amp's picture so it should be there.

2) The trim pot entrance value to V2a grid (pin 2) is shown as 100k on the schematic, it's 220k on the layout. Which is correct?

Thanks in advance.

Go with the schematic which should be correct.

100k trim pot

220k/500p can be placed on the volume pot wiper or on the tube socket V1-7.

I don't actually plan on building this amp even though it's a great amp. I simply tried posting a schematic that was easier for others to read.
