Re: indigo amps
I have but one clue: the name is McD.
If this stands for McDaddy I would guess it's a #183 derivative.
(Though #183 features EL34, and this one either 6L6 or 6V6).
Sounds nice.
PS I now hear that Matt McDonald is 'the other half' of Indo\igo Amps,
so that's more likely where the amp name comes from.

Re: indigo amps
Sounds like a "Classic" tonestack - High Or low Plate AMP.
Diva or not? - Respect for Mr. D's work....)
Re: indigo amps
I'd like to convert my 50w #102 more towards that "chewy" neck pup sound.
I am making some changes to it, mostly some# 183 additions but no EL34 so far at the moment but this a tone palette that I like here.
Any suggestions?

I clicked on that link, anxious to see what Indigo Amps was all about. Then I forgot what the video was about until about 1:30 in.

Re: indigo amps
After getting over the Amanda Wampler content...
I changed over to EL34 today, I had to adjust my bias range with a trimmer on the tail a la Funkalicious.
I like the OD a lot so far! I am not sure about the cleans yet.
Any more ideas about the Indigo and more pics of Ms Wampler too!
Weirdly enough, while I was tweaking up the knobs, my neighbour called over for a package I had got for her from the postman.
She said "What instrument were you playing?" I said "Guitar as usual"
She said "I know, you play guitar, but that sounded more like a woodwind, an oboe or a sax, I couldn't figure it out"
LOL
EDIT: Back to 6L6s, as I couldn't take the cleans. With EL34s there was no "swirl" no sweet top, no Fender Blackface...
I spent some time tweaking up the OD and it is a lot better. The point is it was getting too Marshally and I have a Marshall for that

I take that as a step in the right direction. Did she ask you to turn up? Bonus pointsrogb wrote: She said "I know, you play guitar, but that sounded more like a woodwind, an oboe or a sax, I couldn't figure it out"

Re: indigo amps
I asked when it would be OK to crank it and she said after 11 AM when the baby is awake, but it doesn't disturb them.stelligan wrote:I take that as a step in the right direction. Her and the husband were trying to figure out what instrument it was. "It sounded lovely"
#102 morphs into a kind of #183 hybrid, it seems.

This demo by Nicky Moroch of his signature amp.
KT88's. Tone control with bypass in overdrive channel. Deep control.
Funny story of how this amp got it's name.
