Hi Guys,
Has anyone tried KT66's in Dumble style amps? If so what did you think? I was thinking of trying a set in my Bassman / RF dumble clone.
Thanks
Keith

Make sure your PT can handle the increased heater demand.
6L6GC, Ih = .9A
KT66, Ih= 1.27A
For a .37A or 370ma increase in current in each tube.
The amp with KT66's will draw around 6A heater current.
I think the standard PT for that amps is around 4A capacity for heater current.
So maybe not.

I'm going to have to look at the Bassman specs and see. Hmm

Several Russian KT66 have .9 amp heaters, there just big bottle 6L6GC tubes in KT bottles. Not the same thing, but give the appearance of different tubes.
I like the sound of the KT66 tube (real ones) but might not be what you are looking for in a Dumble Amp sonic signature.
Best regards,

Hi Steve,
I kind of gave up on that idea. Didn't really seem to pan out but I might build something in the future with kt66's.
Thanks
