Re: SSS Schematics
Shouldn't the picture of #002 be a silver colored chassis like Mayer's?LeftyStrat wrote:Some pics.

I think they are just file names not the actual serial number.Shouldn't the picture of #002 be a silver colored chassis like Mayer's?
I find it interesting that HAD made his own circuit boards for these SSS.
Seeing he would usually tweek a circuit, I would think circuit boards would make it a lot more difficult.

Re: SSS Schematics
Those numbers are not serials, just sequential numbering of photos. Photo number one is interesting, it looks like it has eight preamp tubes, and the chassis can actually accommodate nine.
Maybe the two extra tubes would be for tremolo and a built in Dumbleator?

Re: SSS Schematics
It has two slider switches after the volume, so it looks like it could be SSS #01.
So guessing, would it be 3 for the pre-amp/filter/mixer, 1 for the trem, 2 for reverb and 2 for the driver/P.I
No FET circuit though???

Take a closer look at the one amp, PCB with eyelets. It is the same as the construction that I use on my SOD II and Overdrive deluxe amps.Aaron wrote:I think they are just file names not the actual serial number.Shouldn't the picture of #002 be a silver colored chassis like Mayer's?

Re: SSS Schematics
Just to avoid confusion: The "SSS02.jpeg" is a picture of SSS #004.LeftyStrat wrote:Some pics.
As IMO you can see on the "SSS01.jpeg" the amp pictured seems to have a version of what I call the "pre-classic" (500K treble, 250K middle, 1M bass) tonestack. The "James configuration" at the bass pot and the bigger (Clariostat AFAIR) 500K treble pot of the 2nd generation ODS amps e.g. IMO seem to be rather obvious. Or don't you think so?
Cheers,
Max

Re: SSS Schematics
I added a comment to the SSS02.jpg this it was #004.
Thanks, Max
Perhaps I should start naming pictures with a letter suffix to avoid confusion.

Re: SSS Schematics
Awesome work on the PDF super100!!! quick question as i am recently learning about the SSS. Shouldn't there be a value for the coil that feeds the Filter? Also, Am I correct that the filters are comprised of the RC Networks on two rotary switches??? HAD is an american treasure!!!!
Thanks, Mike
Thanks, Mike

Lefty , this is a great contribution for the forum! really!!, but despite this , I seen some layout / schematics that do not match , confusion in them! also photo ,and right now nothing definite! IMHO

Re: SSS Schematics
I think there is quite a variety and evolution in each SSS Alexander built. This is the schematic for a single specimen.sergio wrote:Lefty , this is a great contribution for the forum! really!!, but despite this , I seen some layout / schematics that do not match , confusion in them! also photo ,and right now nothing definite! Re: SSS Schematics
Hi Lefty , This is true!!, but ,for example, there are some differences between layout and electrical scheme of the #0002!. You can get misunderstanding!

Re: SSS Schematics
Yes, I can't guarantee the accuracy, I did not draw the schematic. It was supposedly drawn by someone in Japan.sergio wrote:Hi Lefty , This is true!!, but ,for example, there are some differences between layout and electrical scheme of the #0002!. You can get misunderstanding!
