Circuit vs Chasis Ground

Post by TomCarlos »

Hey friends...

I have a question regarding Circuit vs Chasis Ground.

I'm looking at a schematic for a Peavey Amp. I notice 2 different symbols for ground. The first symbol is the inverted triangle made of 3 lines, each getting smaller at the bottom of the triangle. The second symbol is a horizontal line with 3 diagonal lines below it. I take it these are the symbols for Circuit Ground and Chasis Ground (respectively)?

So in amp designs, there are times when components will go to chasis ground?

And if you have a book or link to read more on this, I would appreciate that. Thanks in advance.

I have found Merlins book to be excellent.
