Modest Mike's Mods, JHS Pedals Mods. Which do you like most?
Hi. I own a BOSS CS3, BOSS GE7 and a VooDoo Lab MicroVibe.
All are working good pedals with minor known issues such as
noise, could use improvement(s) in tone or output, and that
some known mods make these pedals a step better in many ways.
Modest Mike's Mods and JHS Pedals both do mods for all three pedals.
Not sure which mod service is better. Prices are close.
Please share positive results or issues experienced with
either or both Modest Mike's Mods and JHS Pedals.
Thank you.

Best uses for all is to bypass them with a straight cable into the amp. The best result you'll get.

Maybe these questions are best asked over at The Gear Page.

Ah, Brent, sorry you stepped in this pile of poo...I forgot to put 'Tard back in his cage.
But seriously. BOSS? Stands for Ballast to Offload on Stupid Students.
I spent the money and time to install Monte Allums mods on a DS-1 and CS-3. While it was entertaining, because I like soldering stuff, it did not make much of a difference.

To the OP: I suggest selling all three pedals, and buying one or two others which you simply love. There are many, many choices out there. Everyone has different preferences, and so I will not recommend any particular brand (I will suggest you go towards a true by-pass switching type) -- let your ears be the final judge. Getting one or two pedals which are just right is a much better move than throwing money at three others -- none of which you are entirely satisfied with -- and then "hoping" you'll be happy with the final outcome.

Re: Modest Mike's Mods, JHS Pedals Mods. Which do you like most?
This post is inappropriate for this forum, which is devoted to technical discussions about amps. This is not a buyer's guide forum. At least have the decency to post off topic subjects in the Garage Talk forum.
This type of question is best posted on either The Gear Page, or Harmony Central.
There is very much a DIY focus on this board. It is a board devoted to building amps and learning about amp designs. Questions about amps, whether building, modding, or repairing, contribute to the dialog and knowledge base of this forum, which many of us hold in very high regard. Questions not related to technical discussions about tube amps should be posted in Garage Talk.
Continued refusal to understand this either suggests selfishness, stupidity, or both.

LeftyStrat and ToneMerc: You are right. Sorry, my bad.
Will keep to amp discussions.
Paultergeist and Xtian: I enjoy "vintage" BOSS EHX DOD and BK Butler pedals.
But, am taking your advice to sell the above three and get better pedals.
Fixing-up these pedals does not add-up. Much appreciated.
RealTurdMyles: “Don't cross bullshit f__k-up with screaming nonsense f__king idiot. don't like you. Back in couple months moron busy chasing asshole for flavor.”
Geeeez Returded, we enjoy your screaming nonsense! You're a typing adventure.
I really like you, a lot. Bet you’ll be back before two months ~ counting the days.
Please mess up everyone’s posts ~ as you’ve been posting four times a day,
six days a week for five years ~ what else do you do well?
Be nice Bye Bye

Re: Modest Mike's Mods, JHS Pedals Mods. Which do you like most?
Toppscore, you've been doing this shit since you joined. Ridiculous questions almost completely unrelated to amps are the usual fair. I really don't know why you can't take the hint without being smacked in the head with it. And even then, you still don't seem to get it. I'm with Miles on this one.
There was this thread:
Micro Amp Head thoughts . . . . a real doozy, but you didn't get the message.
Of course, who could forget
DISTORTION vs OVERDRIVE vs BREAKUP * Who knows what's what??. What an interesting thread with no point.
Then we had
Ceriatone Dumble Amps * Whicn one did you chose and WHY???
and the all-time Amp Garage classic
List of fuses for vintage Fender amps * Good/Bad Fuse Mfgs? Now that was a steaming pile of WTF. I am nominating that thread for the most mindless thread ever posted on this forum. And to think someone once said that "no question is a bad question". Wow, were they wrong!
and then
Uncovered Guitar Effects & PA System Components ~ Need H.
as well as
AB Box Output Possibilities ~ Will ONE Wreck an Amp?
and
ADA MicroCab and ADA Ampulator handshaking question
and
BOSS LM2 Limiter Guitar Pedal Questions
and
GUITAR~AMP Stompbox/Rack/Effects ~ Chain Order LineUp ADVICE
I am actually quite proud of my post in that one.
and
Rocktron HUSH Rackmount (vs) BOSS-NS2/ISP-Decimator Pedals
I'm too tired to list anymore.
If anyone made it this far...need I say more? Toppscore, do you notice a trend? When is enough going to be enough? You are on the wrong forum, buddy. Can you see and understand how this long string of posts might start to ruffle some feathers? For the good of everyone, kindly remove yourself from the punch bowl.

This is a diy forum we mostly like to talk about gear we have built.
I don't think anyone is trying to insult you buy telling you to post on tgp. Its just that you are much more likely to get some good advice about gea r you can buy there.
So please quit littering up our forum with questions that don't pertain to the general nature of what this forum is about.
