Hi. I was strugling with this reverb for a while but now after few changes I really like it. I changed reverb to 8AB2A1B and this was a huge improvement. 10thTx You were right from the start my long tank was faulty - It worked but one of the springs made strange quite sitra distorted sounds.
But I had one more problem with unnatural distortion that I could't trace - but after changes to the circuit It works quite good now. I don't know why - dwell and reverb pots affects my dry sound a bit - but it feel and sound very natural.
Thanks for all your help.

Re: One Tube reverb - dwell control problem?
I think you have too many stages connected to the B+3 +300V power supply node.
Split off a separate power supply node (that is, a separate decoupling resistor and cap for the reverb recovery circuitry).
I think when you start to swing signal in the reverb circuit you may get positive feedback to the normal amp stages connected to that same power supply node (depending on how good the decoupling caps is.)
Even if you are not having trouble now you may well do a few years down the track as the caps age.
You may also have a similar problem with B+2 also feeding the reverb driver but that is less likely to cause a problem, if in doubt split off a new chain from the B+1 point.
The B+3 thing does need attention.
