Has anyone used http://www.ponoko.com for faceplates? I recently found this site and decided to give them a try. They give you templates you can use to design your own items to engrave I chose to make a faceplate of course. They have various materials to choose from plastic, wood , etc in various sizes to choose from.
It cost me 57 bucks to engrave a 12 in by 24 inch sheet into 2 faceplates, 2 backplates each 17in long and 2 inches wide and 4 nameplates. I just wanted to share this resource maybe some will find it useful.
Here is the link to a pic of the faceplate I made I cant seem to get it to show in the post. My design skills need some work for example I would lower the text of the knobs a bit so it can be seen better but it was fun to do and now I have a almost professional looking faceplate to use.
I forgot to mention their base templates are available for inkscape which is a free vector graphics application so you don't have to shell out the cash for adobe illustrator.
I've recently done a howto for someone else on attachments, but basically if you're linking to an external site, you did it right and it would need the IMG tag around it with the button above between the * and the chain link one. Or you can upload the image via the 'attachments' and then when it's done you can click the 'place inline' button and it puts a link to it here in the body.
