I am working on an amp for a pal and I was wondering about this anomaly in the layout of this amp. I believe for all intents it is an AB763. This particular amp has a single feed hole from the filter caps on the bottom of the board instead of the double hole shown in the schematic. Would this have been a variation of the same schematic. All of the values are Deluxe Reverb, and its date stamped 66.

Re: AB763 AA763 ?
I have a 66 deluxe reverb and I know for sure it is ab763. I'm not to sure if they ever made a aa763 deluxe reverb.....I've never seen a schematic. There is an ab868 that uses a 5u4 rectifier. 1963-1967 were the black face years. I also have a 72 or 74, can't remember right now, silver face and I have never figured out exactly what circuit it was. Fender started doing some weird stuff after cbs.
anything worth doing, is worth doing right

My '71 matches no schematic perfectly but originally matched the A1270 other than the PI grid leaks and 2 vs 3 prong power cord.funkmeblue wrote:I have a 66 deluxe reverb and I know for sure it is ab763. If it says "Vintage" on it, -it isn't.
