PM not working?

Moderators: I'm not one to complain and am grateful for this forum and how well it works...both the software and the people.

However, PM seems to be broken. The last couple of times, I received this error message and am unable to send:

Failed sending email :: PHP ::
DEBUG MODE
Line : 234
File : emailer.php

I'm sure many of us would be very grateful if a solution can be found.

I had this same thing happen to me yesterday, but the message was still put in my outbox and it was received on the other end. So, error message was displayed but no error actually occured.

Happened to me a few days ago. I tried it again the following day and it worked OK.

A more annoying problem that has been ongoing for at least three years is the inability of the PM system to handle attachments. It simply will NOT do it, and I have to assume it cannot be fixed since it has been going on so long.

Heck I got that error 2 days ago and it was not a PM. I was just responding to a thread. Then when I backed out and went back in it took my post anyway. I just shrugged and moved on.

It could be worse. I lost 2500 posts at BYOC when they had an SQL meltdown over a year ago. Of course one could argue that is not worse and that 2499 of those posts needed to go

On at least one occasion in the past few months I was able to attach a .pdf but not a .jpg.
Maybe only certain file types can be attached ?

<edit> and yes, it just gave me a debug on this reply.
Having seen reference to the debug issue for quite a while, I have only gotten it myself the past couple days.
I'm using Firefox but at this point I don't think the browser is the issue.

I get the failure debug thing also but my PMs are going through i think
my attachbox has been 69% full since I joined

Not sure about attachments Ive never had problems sendin Miles naked pics hes always asking for.
but just ignore the debug screen its sending them
