Re: 5e3 stopped working - blows fuses
Armed with more fuses when to the basement and un-soldered the the high voltage leads and checked voltage with my Fluke meter set to AC volts - it went to 46 volts and blew the fuse. Checked the Carling switches and they are were working properly. Ordered a transformer "Hammond 290BBX" from Hawk Electronics for $74 including shipping.
Re: 5e3 stopped working - blows fuses
Finally replaced the Power transformer and it works! Thanks for all the help!

So your 5E3 is powered by an Hammond 290BBX...
may I ask how much your HT is, and what rectifier you're using?
