Liverpool Documents
I decided to use the Express Layout that I had done in Visio and produce a LP version that's much clearer than what was here before. Please let me know if there are any errors!
EDIT: BOM updated 21 July 08
EDIT: BOM Rev 1.4 posted 21 Aug 08- numerous cleanup items
EDIT: Layout modified to correctly label C3 and C4 9-1-08
EDIT 21 Sept 08- Updated BOM
EDIT: 1 Nov 08- Updated BOM
EDIT: 23 Nov 08- Major BOM Revision
EDIT: 06 Dec 08- Layout and Schematic updated to reflect proper wiring of the tone stack, Presence pot, errors on EL84 sockets
EDIT: 19 Jan 00- updated BOM, little stuff.
EDIT: 3 Mar 09 Corrected Screen resistor value to 1.0K
EDIT: 29 Oct 09- BOM updated
EDIT: 23 Nov 09- BOM updated
EDIT: 06 Dec 09 New clearer Visio generated Layout uploaded
EDIT: 20 Dec 09 Corrected new layout with proper LP Preamp board values
EDIT- LAYOUT IS WRONG, NFB WIRE ATTACHES TO 8 OHM TAP, WILL BE CORRECTED!!!

Here's the Liverpool's Voltage Chart for use in initial power up.

Re: Liverpool Documents
I work in the Avionics world, where customers demand complete documentation... I figured this shouldn't be any different!

Re: Liverpool Documents
You guys might add a note somewhere to point out that the nominal -3db down point created by R7 & C8 is roughly 480Hz and is best maintained initially. Also note that dropping the 150K down to a lower value is a method to lower the gain of the previous stage.
Re: Liverpool Documents
I compared the schematic and the layout, and find something that I think might be an error. Or it might be me...
On the presence pot, VR5, the schematic show that the wiper and bottom leg of the pot, are joined, so that the bottom leg is grounded through C10.
On the layout, the bottom leg is grounded directely, not through C10.
Is it intended to be that way?

Another one..
I'm also looking at the big 25W cathode resistors for the EL84's.
Seems like one of them is connected to pin 3 on one pair of output tubes, while the other is connected to pin 4 or 5 to the other pair. They are supposed to connect to pin 3 I suppose.
Also, it seems like one of the 25 resistors are not grounded, although there could be a cable that's hard to spot...
I'm not trying to be a "wiseguy"...just pointing out things that I think might be uncorrect..

Re: Liverpool Documents
There are a number of errors here- I copied my Express layout and forgot to make appropriate changes to the Preamp board, and perhaps others.
Let me know what other errors you find....

Re: Liverpool Documents
The voltage chart I see is empty. Is it the same for everyone or is it just me?

Re: Liverpool Documents
The one voltage chart is to use on your own amp,and put in the voltages of an amp you built. Kind of like a blank sheet to use to put in the voltages of your amp on startup.
Re: Liverpool Documents
I see... Thought it would be the expected voltages

Re: Liverpool Documents
I was poking around for expected Liverpool voltages and noticed that we don't seem to have a full, "typical" baseline.
The schematic provides the critical power rail values which is a great start.
Does anybody have and is willing to post up a fully completed voltage chart for reference?
Cheers,
Dave O.
