#40 Schematic and Layout
These files were reviewed in the general Dumble section. Things to note:
**This was an 'Export' amp with international power supply. It likely was shipped overseas without a cabinet.
**Output tube sockets likely wired for either EL34 or 6L6
**Large resistor on the cathodes is likely a 1 ohm resistor to facilitate biasing when switching between EL34 and 6L6
**Single relay for OD only
**Note odd pin arrangement on relay
**OD output is set by a fixed resistor
**OD entrance is set by a fixed resistor
**Not all the values are indicated on the layout; see the schematic for clarification.

Re: #40 Schematic and Layout
Is that 300pf/68K on V1B grid? Your schematic just has the 68K there...

Yes and the pics look like 56K to me...
Re: #40 Schematic and Layout
Good pickup, I had to look back at the picture myslef. Looks like the 300pf snuck in there because I re-used my unfinished #124 layout.

Thanks! Good pickup. I first saw "blue-gray" but now I agree it is "green-blue"jelle wrote:Yes and the pics look like 56K to me...

Re: #40 Schematic and Layout
Do they make stamped chassis's for this amp or did you have to build it yourself? I'm finally starting to build my first amp, buying components and such, and stuck with the chassis. Thanks for your help!

Re: #40 Schematic and Layout
It looks like this thread was about making the schematic and layout only.
For a chassis like that the only one I know of is from here: http://vasinguitaramp.tripod.com/id2.html

Your welcome,
I bet he would sell a lot more if he took the Dumble stuff off the chassis.
I would like to build some of the various layouts Tony Albany and others have posted for older series ODS.

Re: #40 Schematic and Layout
You're absolutely right! I really wanted a blank chassis that was already hole punched with nothing on it. Tony's layout is what I'm going for actually. It's pretty clean. Have you built any amps from this site?

Re: #40 Schematic and Layout
No I haven't bought any chassis from that site.
I have two CE chassis right now (black) and one Bill W. chassis (black) all three are later version ODS not what your looking for.
I'm still fiddling around with two right now, I don't enjoy the stress Dumble amp building gives me, should have went with a Ceriatone kit.
Every time I think I have all the parts, I don't and I haven't found the type of wire I want to use for these amps yet. I like the wire Fender used in their amps like the grey or white filament wire. I have been ordering different types of wire and so far striking out.
I built a Dlite out of a Fender Princeton chassis and the Tweed ODS in a www.turretboards.com bare chassis 17.5x8x2.5

You could get the asian chassis and have it entirely glass beaded to knock off the lettering.SGSlidedawg wrote:You're absolutely right! I have a friend who owns a shop that has a sandblaster. You gave me an idea. Thanks again!

I wouldn't sandblast it, only glass bead or plastic bead it!SGSlidedawg wrote:I have a friend who owns a shop that has a sandblaster. You gave me an idea. Thanks again!
