And look at this guy using a crappy coiled cable. Doesn't he realize it's robbing him of his highs.

I scored a bunch of this vintage silk covered wire a while back. Its only 2 conductor, so I've been making patch cords with it.

There's a unit that will get rid of all that cable "mucky-muck."

AH, mate! I watched Tap back in the days several, uh, multiple, many times, sure, but not since the 90s when I started messing with tube amps and learning about vintage guitars. He's got the real shit, there. Do you think that's all Guest's stuff, or they rented it for the movie?

I don't know, he wouldn't let me touch that one, or even look at it!

Actually, I've heard they're all quite accomplished musicians.

The film is chock full of real life references. What it and then watch "Pink Floyd at Pompei", also, Beck once stated something along the lines of wanting to become a shoe salesman after seeing Hendrix, which is also hinted at in the movie (glad he didn't).

I have to add one more thing...being a circuitboard designer by trade (among other things)......don't be bamboozled by phrases like' extra wide traces' and 'super heavy duty thick pcb'.....that's all absolute bullshit snake oil that defies logic why they would go to that expense (1/8" circuitboard is $$$) just to say they're 'durable and robust'. The thickest pcb we ever design for a launch vehicle going into space...was .093 (3/32)...to withstand launch vibration....and it was ONLY because it had heavy inductors mounted to it!
For fucks sake!

We all like milspec stuff just because of the fetish factor of well made things, but in the past good things were ment to last for generations. Today the funny thing about 'quality' is that people that can afford this stuff like Krell, Classe, ARC, C-J, or Mercedes, BMW, Range Rovers, only keep them a few years anyway. Odd to buy a car that you can get 500K miles out of with proper care and sell it when it hits 80K. Weird upside down world.

<Hendrix image deleted for brevity, see above>
Umm....I'm pretty sure that had nothing to do with his highs.

I looked into high quality IEC cords a few years back when the talk was about using Hi Fi cords on guitar amps.

Two things come to mind.

1) high quality (hospital grade?) connectors

2) high quality 14ga-12ga, three conductor, shielded cable

Here are two Volex cords.
One is 6'7" and the other is 9'10"

Looks like they are out of stock
Tom

Don't let that smoke out!
