As we discussed previously, I want one.
Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...

Re: HOW TO GET YOUR CHASSIS!!
bare minimum is 18, so I'll either get 18 or 36, I just want to be sure to get enough for everyone who wants one, and not be sitting on extra's

Re: HOW TO GET YOUR CHASSIS!!
would it be impossible to make some of them in a "tubes up" version?
Re: HOW TO GET YOUR CHASSIS!!
If given a choice, I would choose this also. (I don't expect it, but I wanted you to know, Brandon, just in case...)JimiB wrote:would it be impossible to make some of them in a "tubes up" version?

sure fellas, just buy 18 of them and I can do them however.
That'll total $3510 plus $200 for the artwork fees!!!

In for one, and what about pre pay for guaranty? Then we can forget about it until its delivered.

Re: HOW TO GET YOUR CHASSIS!!
that's 6.
If I take a pre-pay and then one of my vendors takes longer than promised then I now have to answer 30 "Where's my stuff" calls and emails, I really don't have the time for that. I will give notice when they are going to be ready, and at least 24 hours notice on the auction, that way it 100% fair and unbiased--first come first serve.

Unbiased, yes. 100% fair, well, almost. This opens the door if folks whose lives/schedules don't coincide with the auction schedule, but who DID generate an "I want one" entry that caused you to make the chassis, may miss their opportunity.Funkalicousgroove wrote:that way it 100% fair and unbiased--first come first serve
This happened to me. (the following is not intended as a sob story) I had a prior engagement last Saturday and before the engagement was over the chassis were gone. It was not something I could work around the auction schedule.

I had no idea that they would go in 2 hours, but as far as I can tell everyone that got one spoke up for one. Regardless, I'll get a larger batch to sell this go-round, and I'll start the auction on a sunday at Noon MDT.

Re: HOW TO GET YOUR CHASSIS!!
I would like to state that I have "missed" out on a chassis from Funk for the last two runs. I am not disappointed or upset - just been busy or unlucky. I applaud him for offering these up as he does - and for his willingness to do it again. It is most likely at his expense upfront and takes away from the time he could spend with his own builds that are highly regarded. I also agree with his approach that was aimed to make it less tedious for him to sell these. I know that this forum is frequented by many builders and do it yourselfers that prefer to build their own amps. An alternative to being blue that anyone of us missed this run would be to try source one ourselves. It is probably a major PITA that Funk has already lived through and got right. From what I have seen and heard these items are worth the wait. Just look here: http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3508 Knowing that Funk sells his own amp - that is another alternative. By doing this for us all he likely loses a sale or two. As for me I can wait - I know it will be worth it
