David Root
It is with a heavy heart I would like to inform friends, associates and fellow Amp Garage members that at 7:00 am, July 23, 2017, Mr. Root succumbed to his battle with cancer and passed peacefully under the medical care and compassion of the Chilliwack Hospital staff.
He is survived by his wife Donna Root who requested that I kindly share this sad loss to his family and friends online.
I personally met David approximately five years ago on a quest to purchase a pair of speakers for an empty 212 cab in my arsenal. I spent an afternoon chatting with him, soon realizing, that he too indulged in the passion of finding the ultimate "tone". We talked tubes, circuits, speakers and forged a friendship that surpassed amplifiers into the netherworld of politics, family, and life! It was a pleasure and honour to have shared the time I did with David and will miss his contributions here on the AmpGarage and in person.
RIP David!

Yes, thanks for letting us know. Sad news, I noticed he hadn't posted for a while. We had exchanged a few messages and I got in on a couple of his group buys.

RIP David. What a helpful man. He was VERY instrumental in my first ODS build. That amp is still with me and sounds excellent.

I will miss David he was a source of information. The Dumble style Heyboer transformers he spec'd and order for him and myself are so good.
Rest in peace David, we will surely miss you.

That's a huge bummer. David was a great guy and an excellent builder. He contributed a lot to this community and amp-building in general. He will be missed.
