need vintage potentiometers, where to buy?

Post by shoggoth »

Hi everyone,

I am back working on my Zenith radio amp project (won't bother linking to the other thread, no photos are visible because Photobucket changed their terms), total redesign and had some PCB's made and it's under construction.

I need a two dual 1M audio pots. I also want to reuse the original Zenith radio knobs. They used the split knurled shafts pictured below. Modern potentiometer's I've tried don't use the same knurl pattern. Ideally the shaft should be shorter. I can make do with whatever length I can find though.

a. Does anyone know of a site selling knurled split shaft pots like this? Preferably dual 1m audio ?
b. Would it be hard to buy a dual 1M audio pot and replace the shaft? Is that feasible, if so how hard ?

Thanks in advance,

Pat

Phil - that looks like it might work. I'll order 'em up and give them a try. I never searched with metric values and missed them...

SoulFetish - I'll PM you if the mouser potentiometers don't work out.

Thanks everyone,

Pat
