Ohm rating on 3x12
Hi all, I have a bit of a rookie question i'm hoping someone can help me with. I have a Sun 3x12 cabinet that i am wanting to use as an onstage monitor. I have 4 12" speakers from a laney cabinet, the speakers are 16 ohms/80 watts each. As I understand it, if I wire 3 of these in parallel I get 5.33 or something total ohm rating. To drive the cabinet I am using an old Peavy PA head for the time which states on the back of the unit something along the lines of it being good for min. load 4ohm but also 8 & 16ohm. If i'm pushing this cabinet at 5.3 and that is in between the 4min 16max range, am i risking damaging anything here?

Re: Ohm rating on 3x12
No, as long as it's higher then you're fine. Run it on the 4 ohm output.
