This clip has been recorded with 183 , A TR Sig 2/12 Cab With 2 TR WGS speakers and a P90 JG guitar along with just a Trex roomate effect
no looper or any other special cables , Just plug in and play
While the playing and recording is poor , I'm just trying to show the essence's of 183 playing thru a P90 Varmint
The Cam is a cheap hand held Samsung video recorder
Eric Johnson's Steel String Singer all the way through this tune, mostly with a Tube Screamer into a Fuzz Face, with the Fuzz only occasionally being turned off during the bridge:
Great, great sound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4n8Feq_zbw

Impressive playing. His live sounds are so close to his studio sounds,

Yep. Cool guy, too. I played some gigs with him around that time ('88 or '89 I think) and was able to play through his setup. That SSS had footswitchable pre-amp boost and FET boost as well as reverb if memory serves.
He used it with an old blue MXR rack delay. GREAT sounding amp. I've had an Overdrive Special, but nothing compared to that that SSS. Should have gotten one when HAD offered. Couldn't afford it at the time....
His '69 Super Bass was pretty crazy cool, too.
I just happened on this one, Little Feat Midnight special with some special guests. If you look quickly at about 1:15 you can see a clear shot of the SSS.

Do you have any info supporting JB owning #2 SSS? I never knew that.
Right now only my memories from the time when it was sold to Japan and from what some collectors and dealers in Japan later have told regarding this SSS. But I will dig a bit deeper and report if I find something.
