Re: JTM45ish build
Got it powered up...used the limiter and everything seemed good
got it all tubed and plugged in a strat ToneTubby alnico 1x12 and it's good...
didn't realize the cleans would be so sweet...
Voltages:
V6 pin2 and 8 426V pin 4 and 6 334V Mullard GZ34
V4-5 pin 3 426V pin 6 428V Valve Art
V3 pin 1 248 pin 6 205.....GB Mullard
V2 pin 1 178V pin 6 309V pin8 180V....GB Mullard
V1 pin 1 200V pin 6 210V.....Valvo
looking at adding the FX loop not sure

Re: JTM45ish build
Roe
how low are they?
I'm using the 644V PT tap I have a 680V
not sure if its worth switching...maybe if I try some EL34's
in the future...
Looking at implementing a simple FX loop on this build and have found these.
On the schematic the resistors are double the size of the ceriatone layout.
Are the resistors for the bypass?
I think the layout is from a 18watt is that why the resistors would be
doubled on a JTM45?
I put a simple one in a 6V6 Plexi style build with no resistors(shielded cable) and it seems to work fine. Trying not to over complicate but also would
like to know. Any comments/suggestions are appreciated
Thanks

original specs are 450v on the plates of the kt66s and around 215v on v1's plates

Yo
Hey Darin,Beautiful build,Can I ask where you got the water slides?
Faceplate looks awsome.Mikey

Re: JTM45ish build
You could try lowering the 10K R30 resistor to 8K2 to bring up the preamp voltages.

Re: JTM45ish build
Thanks for the info Roe your right I'm
about 20V low on KT's and 10-15V on V1
I'm biasing around 37ma
added FX loop w/bypass sw and V2 bypass switch with .68 and 220uf caps
gotta get it in a cab and call it....
Thanks again
the company is called papilio
here's a link http://www.papilio.com/laser%20water%20 ... paper.html
lots to choose from I used the laser water slide.
I think Smallbear electronics sells single sheets also

I may just try that and see where that puts it

Re: JTM45ish build
Changed dropping string to 8.2K as per Tom
and now at 222V and 214V on V1....320V and 180V on V2
may try some other tubes and see what it sounds like
Thanks

Re: JTM45ish build
I'll be interested in the difference in sound from going to a higher voltage on the preamp tubes.

Re: JTM45ish build
Spent a few minuets with the higher voltages in preamp
and initial feeling was it seemed a little more aggressive with a bit more gain
but had less of the kinda sweet 3d quality. Surprised what 10-15V changed
Not sure this is the way for me to go...
I will probably go back to the lower voltages and compare
