I know I did. But I got lucky.
If you are nearing your 40's or older and have not had a physical in the last 5 years, do yourself and your family a favor and go see the doc.
With me, I thought it was acid reflux as I had battled that for a long time.
I thought the medicine I was taking wasn't working anymore....
+1 on what Tom said.
For me it was getting a physical and finding out I had high blood pressure. I'm now on dirt cheap generics meds that keep it normal, and that will add years to my life.
Get that checkup. You owe it not only to yourself, but your loved ones.
That is no doubt when you say symptoms of heart disease are easy to ignore. I had a 90+ % blockage in one of the main arteries and had little for symptoms. Small amount of tightness in the neck, a little fatigue and numb fingers if I was pushing it too hard were the only real indicators. I got lucky, caught it early enough and 1 stent fixed the issue.
I second the notion of regular check ups after 40.
