Re: Brown SuGer,Im at it again!!
I was inspired by the OP so I made a Brown Sugar. I kind of drove Dave Allen nuts cause I wanted to use the parts I had on hand. So I bought the transformers, then the chassis, then the boards and faceplate. 4X shipping, Dave's said "you should have just bought the kit" he's probably right! Dave's a really nice guy and I'm happy with the build. Too tired to wire the AC, test her out tomorrow.

Mikey it is a reverb tone control. Sometimes reverb can get dark, so I like to brighten it with the tone knob.
Nice job on the amp Dr. Eric.

Re: Brown SuGer,Im at it again!!
hi guys,
glad i found this forum.
great infos on the brown sugar.
Would any of you tell me the plate voltages that thing is running on?
im in the process of building a similar kind of amp...and was just wondering
+/- 420 to 430 for the powertubes?
have any of you played with the idea of going ss-rectified with this model?
would really appreciate any help you could give me
best of wishes from vienna, austria

Specs for Brown Sugar transformers and his other standard parts are available at Allen Amp website. Using silicon rectifiers has been common in Fender-style amps since they came generally available in the early 60s. Unclear what advice specifically you looking for.GuitarGeorg wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 7:39 pm Would any of you tell me the plate voltages that thing is running on?
