To be successful on YT you need to know the algorithm. Put a silly image in the thumbnail of you doing a 'whodathunk' face and big text across it with something scandalous sounding... or sad in this case.

I do like quite a few of his videos, but some also make me cringe so hard I turn into a human prune.

This is the kind of tone that I was looking for when I discovered Dumble amplifiers and the amp garage. Christopher Cross MUST BE using using a Dumble here. I could be wrong. What do your ears say?

Start at 5:55 in the following video
I'm the OP and I have a follow up. Rick Beato interviewed Christopher Cross and I got the answer to my question. My ears heard correctly. He is playing a Dumble. He's playing a 59 Les Paul straight into an ODS.

I love it when I'm right. ;-)

Here is the interview with CC:

This aged well , very good ! I was gonna find this thread and follow up with an admittance of incorrect assumption. Hairier than most Dumble tones we have come to expect , and doesn’t sound like what I hear later from CC with his live dumble setups, at least imo, but what does that price ?! Lol , I wonder what serial number…Rick Beato says it sounds cranked up and CC confirms. It definitely sounds like it’s pushed in the power section .

My main problem with Rick Beato is his constant air drumming …that and every track and artist that he likes is the “best , most amazing , unmatched groundbreaking example of all time”…you can only say that so many times and still be believable …
