That's a good price you got there. I just received my order; 2 sheets of Garolite at $22 each and 2 sheets of GPO3 at $10, all sheets are 12" x 16".Tdale wrote:I got a good deal on the garolite. I'm getting 3 sheets of 1/8" Garolite, 16" x 16" for about 70 dollars. Not bad.
Thanks Dai H

That should be enough for a while
I just found out that Elkem, where I work, do order from McMasterr; things like scafolder casters and ventilation duct.
Re: Buying Garolite from McMaster-Carr..
Just to warn you, G10 is hard on tools. 1/8" will have to be cut with a band saw. There's some 1/4" at place I used to work. It ruined a bandsaw blade. I've heard of scoring and breaking 1/16", but I've only sawed it or cut in on a sheet metal cutter. I can use a hand held hole punch with the thin stuff. For thicker pieces it may as well be steel.

+1 on the "hard on tools." I am able to cut mine with a jigsaw. Lines may not be *perfectly* straight, but jigsaw blades are relatively cheap.
