We have had this discussion about Bruno amps years ago, so it seems your opinion on this has not changed. Neither has mine...Now that being said, I truly hope all is well in your world.FUCHSAUDIO wrote:FWIW: Despite what's going on in your life, you should get out front of it and keep people who sent you thousands of dollars in the loop. TAG: Thanks for your kind comments. I appreciate it. To be clear: My comment wasn't at-all intended to be negative, it was more an observational post and potentially advisory to those affected or those who might send money to a company possibly in trouble. In hindsight, perhaps saying "Looks like Quinn may be going under" may have been less dooming, and I apologize for the phrasing... my-bad
Think of it as a "customer service announcement", not a negative post. Honestly, Quinn should have gotten out in front of the problem themselves.
Supposedly they had 4 or 5 employees committed to build amps that quit ? If that's the case, out it out there. My post is nothing that had not been reported here or at TGP by angry customers. We've all seen the Greg Clark debacle unfold. Perhaps more and quicker communication could have prevented more money being lost. The warnings came too late for many. Oddly, he and Shad were friends, which a few people questioned...understandably.
With all due respect, I the quality of my products and my customer service has proven themselves to be exemplary over the 15 years of being in business. You know what I did ? I did nothing special. I just met normal expectations of a properly run business. I delivered quality products, and backed them up with quality support. I did silly things like keeping customers in the loop on lead times and explaining why something wasn't done in time and when someone could expect their products. Whether it's workers, a vendor, illness, or whatever, it's simple honesty and good business practices. Much like you and the business you have built. Ignore your customers and they will go away. You have been a friend and a customer of mine, and I have no ax to grind with you, nor would I think you to me.
In our case: When a customer gets an amp with a noisy tube, he gets a replacement in the mail within a day. A dealer received the wrong foot switch, he got the right one overnight. That dealer said "man, we deal with many boutique builders every day, and they could all learn something about customer service from you guys". Even when my dad was dying of ALS and I had a fulltime day job, raising two kids, visiting a hospital and then making nursing home visits, and I also was starting this business I still answered customer e-mails within 24 hours.
To this day, I hit a PC or my I phone once an hour between my daily tasks during the day, and usually before I hit bed at night to answer ANY e-mails. There is no logical reason to simply shut down and assume "radio silence" when you have peoples money and their left hanging. It breeeds speculation.
It's interesting that Shad never hesitated to post here and on TGP to prove his knowledge or make his share of snarky comments whenever he could, until the mods put a stop to it. Suddenly he posts nothing. Sorry, but if you (or your partner) can post things to Facebook selling amps for customers, deleting negative comments, and posting sound files and links, you should also be able to own up to what's going on at your business.
Sorry, your not going to convince me join a "feel sorry for Shad" club. I'm even willing to put aside his acerbic comments directed at me or about me (here and elsewhere), and I would still feel sorry(on a human level) for whatever he (and your friend Tony Bruno) are going through. The point here is to communicate.
