I've always liked the solo out of Baba O'riley

The note selection, tone and attitude in the solo at 2:08 is perfect.

I think it's Bruce Conte.

Mike Campbell (Tom Petty) Breakdown.
Re: Memorable Solos, without a bunch of notes.
WHEN I was 16 our band played a 1 1/2 hour gig at the skating rink and we only knew 3 songs...so we undoubtedly got the most out of the least.
1. It took Jesus 30 minutes to leave Chicago.
2. Statesboro had the blues for 30 minutes.
3. And finally The thrill was gone for the last 30.
I don't remember ever getting invited back...but then again, it was over 40 years ago, so maybe we did...probably not...maybe if I go play 12 bars for an hour or so now it'll jog my memory...or not.

Oh yes, that is definitely Bruce! Love these guys - a tighter horn section has never been heard!vibratoking wrote:The note selection, tone and attitude in the solo at 2:08 is perfect.

Ah, this coulda been great, if only Cooder and band had heard the song before the show.

For me, the one note is this one with the univibe..
3:37 to 3:54

starting at 2:38
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zw4bgcOhzC4
my other favorite would be Robin Trower, the background feedback note in Long Misty Days
Or many other trower tunes, like daydream.
