I bought a pair of shoes from a drug dealer the other day. I dunno what he laced them with but I’ve been tripping all day,
Re: Minimum wage
He's almost too perfect a stereotype. But he didn't make the wave, he's just riding it.
Re: Minimum wage
great, you are going to blame that idiot for our country's problems? That is typical fox news. Change the conversation to that instead of having the one about what the real problems are, and they are all at the top.
Re: Minimum wage
They're not blaming that guy for the country's problem, just showing how easy it is to waste other tax payers earned money with big out of control government give aways. If people truly need help, no problem help them, just cut the waste.
The "typical Fox News" line is starting to get old.

Re: Minimum wage
After you called me a "racist" I thought that I would give an example that showed how "entitlement" scammers come from all types.
The Great Society's "War on Poverty" has done more harm to the poor than good. Look at absentee fatherhood. It pays to spawn bastards. This is the number one contributor to the demise of the family unit in lower income America. You don't see that in other countries.
Look in the mirror next time before playing the race card. You don't know me.
Peace ,\/,, . Thanks for the conversation. Love ya ,Brah.

Re: Minimum wage
right so the way they show how gov't money is wasted, is by showing this pathetic guy and his antics. If you took him and all of the other trash that does this and added all the money together that they have pilfered, it wouldn't equal a fraction of the money given to corporate welfare, military gouging, or the billions wasted on Iraqi infrastructure projects that were never completed and abandoned. This IS typical of fox news and what they choose to focus on. Get your head out of the sand. Focus your attention on where the problem really is...CHIP wrote:They're not blaming that guy for the country's problem, just showing how easy it is to waste other tax payers earned money with big out of control government give aways. I have taken extensive courses in college on African American history, have many older African American friends and clearly if you think absentee fatherhood is due to the policies of Lyndon Johnson you are incredibly clueless. You need to take some real courses in school for your education instead of using the 24 hr news cycle. And yeah, whether you know it or not a lot of the comments on this whole thread stink of race code.

Chill a little. You are the first to mention a color and bring race into the mix. IF you don't like it, don't read it. Truth is this country HAS BIG ASS problems and is headed in the wrong direction. That can not be denied. IF there is not a systemic change, this country is doomed.

P'raps you've been "extra sensitized" due to your intensive education on the subject. Would appreciate it if you were more specific. The rest of us aren't up-to-date on the latest additions to the "code book." If you're too shy to do that here, no problem, how about a link to a current glossary.mac0611 wrote: whether you know it or not a lot of the comments on this whole thread stink of race code.
BUT here's one for ya. NPR report yesterday. NYPD code when undertaking a stop & frisk operation or similar, now "people of color" are referred to by the code "citizens." How's that for irony.
OK good, now we're getting somewhere.Ok. Fair enough. I agree we have big problems. I never take my eye off of where the problems are. The people with their hands on the levers are the problem. At the risk of repeating myself, a few days back wrote:
Corporate welfare. Nobody sees it because it's not "obvious", not seen by us "ordinary" folks. Now if you want to cry "racist" guess what ethnic group benefits the most. Gets the cake while we fight over crumbs. Just the way it's supposed to be. And don't say "rich", wise guys.

FWIW I think darn near 100% of TAG posters know where the roots of our favorite blues & jazz come from AND have respect.
Still boils down to individual behavior. What Dr. King told us 50 years ago.
down technical blind alleys . . .
Re: Minimum wage
If you ask me - and even if you don't - the problem is that conversations like this start off with, or quickly devolve to: "That's racist!" "You must be a Progressive idiot!" "You heard that on Fox News!" "Your Professors are all commies!"
They keep us at each others' throats so there's no chance anyone will ever stand up and say, "Excuse me, but what the hell do you think you're doing?"
The current debt is approaching GDP, which hasn't happened since FDR and Truman (WWII and the Depression). Bad enough, but unfunded future liabilities are five times that.
The government doesn't have any money of its own; it spends yours and your children's and devalues your assets.
What would be so wrong with insisting that these petty tyrants live within their means (OUR means) and limit themselves to the powers they actually have?
When someone proposes a solution, if your first reaction is to say "You want dirty air and seniors eating dog food," or "You just want to reward non-productive people who will vote for you," then you have become the unwitting tool of people who have no respect for you.
