That was a very informative response.
Maybe I should be more specific.WHAT is it and how is it done?

I have a Super Reverb that is begging for it.

As far as I know, there is no data on the circuit. It is a well known mod and HAD still performs them. Last I heard was $5000 and you supply the amp.

This has been discussed many times here fwiw. It would be great if there were pictures or info.....

Hey, I *have heard* of it!

From what I have found out, these mods differ quite a bit from amp to amp, but maybe HAD does more mods than just the Ultraphonix.

I heard of fender amps that sounded huge and clean, to channel switchers like an ODS to hot rod marshall mods. To me it sounds like he's having fun modding stuff. 8)

5 grand eh?
5 grand will buy a lot of parts to make a lot of amps!

It also buys you a lot of hours from a guy that really knows what he's doing.

And yes, it does buy a lot of parts too. Just imagine all the good food and drinks you buy with it. Hmmmm.... :D

No more food or drink for HAD. He should use that money strictly for parts. :D

There are lots of builders that know what they are doing.HD does something and the grapevine hears about it and pays big bucks for it whether it's great or not.
I've heard my share of less-then-stellar dumble amps.
The secrecy is interesting.I will have to hear the mod and see whether it's worth pursuing.

I think that the Manzamp style circuit is one type of mod that is still done to bassman amps by HD.

Because of my location, I guess I'll lower my price and modify your Super Reverb for $5000, but we'll call it the "Ultra-Phoenix" mod. :)

Here's a YouTube video of a UltraPhonix. Sounds pretty nice...

Sounds like any other D based amp with a certain playing style.I'm not going to get all frothy about that mod anymore.
Turn a Super into a Dumble is basically what it is.What a waste of a Good Super Reverb.
If I want a D style amp I'll just build one.
Well that search is done.

Mine doesn't sound like the one in this you tube video. My playing style and music taste is completely different than from the guy in the video. Maybe that's the reason. The Ultraphonix "modded" amps are to me the best sounding BF amps I've ever played and they do more than just Fender tone. Alexander builds them, like his other amps, to the specific needs/style of the player. BTW, I always wonder how someone can judge an amp just by listening to a youtube clip. I appreciate the ODS, but they are not for me. The Ultraphonix is a different amp. And NO, the Ultraphonix amp is not a waste of a good BF amp, at least not to me.

Could you please post some pictures of the amp inside out?
