Funny... There are some things in life you should sell tickets for.
We've had a couple deaths in the family and the Misses completely forgot
a traffic ticket from some time last year, until the trooper appeared in the yard.
I was packing for a church gig, ran a funk band the night before, middle of a
run of 7 or so consecutive sound gigs....
Turns out she had a warrant out since last October...
And nobody told us... until a couple days later, the paper appeared in the mail, of course...
jeez, the look on her face, ain't love grand, made for a strange day
completely out of the blue...
I've married a criminal, have to get her a pair of cuff's for giggles.

So did he haul her in?
You would think they have better things to do.
Around here I think they will just send it to collections after a while and let them handle it.
Of course if you happen to get pulled over the bench warrant will be in effect.

Re: I had to bail the wife out of jail
printed, tattoo's photographed, holding cell, the whole nine yards.
had to leave the kids unattended... freaky... mad scramble for cash..
on a weekend after the banks closed, etc, etc...
and now collections is on us, the state was doing a sweep to "bring in"
outstanding warrants, they screwed the pooch, the dates on the paper trail
are in our favor, our only real obligation is to make the court date.
funny when your notified after the fact.
They yanked her license with out notification, I got pulled over incessantly
last season all over the state going back a forth from gigs, and they never
really justified why... I drive like grand ma, now I know...
One officer once, in hind sight, alluded to her once, "I thought you might be out with your spouse"
I know a lot of fellows who have seemed a bit paranoid...
now not so much, I'm not anti law enforcement, or hate the police
but they're not doing them selves any favors letting things transpire like that.
Its good to laugh at it.
to A friend of mine is a bailiff, I'll get yakking and then He'll get to yakking,
And I know a few local representatives, I'll flap my gums that way too.

oh yeah, didn't you tell the tale of getting pulled over for dropping a cigarette butt out of your window? that sure explains it.Andy Le Blanc wrote:, I got pulled over incessantly

Have to love surprises like that.
A few years back my gal was driving our girl back to college (about 30 miles).
They decided to stop at a Jewel grocery store for a few dorm snacks before they headed out. Anyway, they turned into the lot just as the cop turned on its lights & siren.
She had no clue at all why.
Cop gets out, gun drawn, second cop gets out screaming " Get out of the car" " Let me see your hands"
My gal is totally freaking at this point.
They cuff her, put her in the cruiser, search the car, hassle her daughter, and threaten to impound her dog.
They towed her minivan to a location 20 miles away even though she lived 3 blocks from the store.
Why?
Invalid registration "IN THEIR COMPUTER"
Illinois had a program going where they sent random POST CARDS to residents to confirm the auto insurance. Well, we get tons of junk mail post cards and generally speaking never even look at them. They always go straight to the recycle bin.
When she failed to mail in the card, they suspended her registration.
So there she is, all her kids college stuff in the minivan, her kid had to walk home carrying the dog, get the other car and bail her mom out of jail!
She had proof of insurance, valid drivers license, and of course the registration. But that did not matter because the " Computer Says " suspended !
Costed her $250.00 to get the car back, Judge dismissed the charges.

Re: I had to bail the wife out of jail
That makes me angry when I hear stories like that.
Like last summer when I got into a bit of an altercation with a guy that was trying to cut in line.
You know, road construction coming up all lanes merge right.
Well everybody had gotten into the right lane except this joker.
He tried to push his way in front of me and I closed the gap.
I looked at him and laughed.
He looked pissed.
Long story short, he was an off duty state trooper.
He had me pulled over an hour later near my home and cited for careless driving.
I fought the ticket and did an affidavit hearing by mail.
The judge ordered me to read the other guys statement and mail in a response.
Even though I mailed it four days before the deadline, they claimed my letter did not reach the court in time and he convicted me.
It is one day away for mail delivery so I think I was probably convicted before I ever entered a plea.
$340 which was going to go up $200 every week it was late.
I really hate that absolute power where you can't fight it.
I couldn't afford a lawyer but now I wished I had hired one some how.
Now I have a careless driving ticket on my record which had been spotless previous to this.
I even asked the judge, do you really think I was driving recklessly?
Or maybe that I pissed off the wrong guy because he feels he is above the law and common courtesy of the road.....
Funny he didn't reply to that.

Re: I had to bail the wife out of jail
Ouch... oh jeez...
I was sitting in a dinner once with a bunch of cohorts pretty early..
we was still up getting a breakfast before bed.
And a couple three four county mounties come in on the shift change.
We got pretty hushed pretty quick being in the state we was...
wasn't a bad meal, even with the fuzz a couple booths away.
Sometime over the course we over heard one of the older fellows say..
" the day I have to show to work sober is the day I turn in my badge and gun"
We just about lost it...
Karma is a hell of a thing, those radar guns have been shown to cause
nut cancer if their left on and held in your lap...
