Asian silver od reverb chassis
A friend got one, and it doesn`t have any mounting points, would someone kindly point me to the thread that addresses that issue? Thanks!

Re: Asian silver od reverb chassis
I wound up making a very snug head cabinet with supports and then drilling through the sides of the chassis to mount.

Jim
not sure if this would be an option
I used some aircraft nut plates...

Fairly simple to install.

how would you rate the quality of the chassis? too thin? hole size/position correct? or is it a basket case?

it`s not TOO bad, nuthin perfect, TAD on thin side...but i`m workin w/it w/o too much problem, you may NOT LIKE the fender type strap holes, .. pro`s, NICE WIDE CHASSIS, best yet if you ask me!!AtomCap wrote:groovtubin wrote:A friend got one, and it doesn`t have any mounting points, would someone kindly point me to the thread that addresses that issue? Re: Asian silver od reverb chassis
I don't have this chassis but when I have to resort to using Fender strap type mounting I don't use the strap on top I just use the long bolts from the strap mount (can order just bolts) and use those fancy recessed washers on the top side. I always use a thin flat washer underneath the recessed washer so it doesn't cut into the tolex.

If possible do you have a source for the "fancy recessed washers"
you can share?

Darin I just pick them up at local building center. I forget what they call those stainless steel washers. You could also use plastic washers as well.

I was thinking the recessed flat bottom plastic ones like I got with a CE chassis a while back

Yes, finish washers.
The SS are better because they don't distort as easily when torquing down the screws.

That's great cuz I'm not getting nearly enough clean headroom out of my chassis screws!Structo wrote:Yes, finish washers.

Re: Asian silver od reverb chassis
Something I thought of because somebody here did it, was to just slide in the chassis on rails, then the back cover of the head holds it in.
