Gibson EH150 Amp

I'm new to the group but have been lurking here awhile. I've heard some really good tone over the years and probably have went through a million dollars worth of guitars by today's prices.

Possibly the best amp tone I've heard is from a cathode biased 1936 Gibson EH150 amp. It was a little noisy and not too good for recording, but it had all I could ever ask for in a live setting. It used two 6l6's and had a 5UR4 rectifier. Does anyone have a similar kit or is it possible to re-make one of these? The main input tube became obsolete but I was able to cross reference it and make an adapter so it would plug right in. I would sure like to re-make this little gem.

The 1936 model used a transformer for a phase splitter, like it says in the article.

they're obviously using the bean-counter M. to them, M means 1000.

I agree with unklmickey. If you look at the pot at the top of the schem between the pre and power sections (volume pot? I don't know my way around a an amp schematic very well yet) reads "1 meg" whereas everything else is "200M" or "20M" or whatever, in places that subbing 'k' for 'M' would make a lot of sense.

The later one with the 5U4 rectifier could be simulated I guess with more modern components, (6SL7/12AX7, 6SN7 (?)) except the field coil speaker. To duplicate it would be tougher.

Presumably the instrument input is designed for the Charlie Christian pickup and/or an early P-90. I wonder what it would sound like using the mike input with the extra gain stage. What looks at first glance like the earliest master volume I've seen, in front of the 6N7 driver, is the tone control isn't it? Or is it both?

What are the voltages?
