See the comments by Boldaslove, this pretty much jives. Although, the modifications are not exclusively solely the bias trem either, some have the opto bug.

this blackface bandmaster was sold as a ultraphonix, but not by dumble... but i think there is more going on in a real ultraphonix....

Not according to the " bootlegger" stickered Ultra's I've seen. It makes folks feel better when they perceive there's more to than it really is.

FWIW, I have push/pull pots in my UP TR version as well.

That one is different than the UPs that I've seen. That being said, there are a variety of models out there.

so are they playing into the modded normal Chanel, and then bridging over to the non modded channel to add reverb?

I had a go a figuring out the Hotel Hog from a diagram. One side appeared to be stock and the other channel was a Blues Master, there was a relay for mega boost. The PI was similar to the Blues Master as well.

I thought I posted the diagram up here but I can't seem to find it. The ODS is a much more interesting amp.
