Guitar wiring debacle!!

Post by delux1959 »

So......

I decided to rewire my guitar! I attacked it with aplomb and started snipping wires off the pick-up selector, the pots and pulling said parts off the guitar. next I tried yanking on the wires that lead to the switch and was greeted with a lot of resistance. So i pulled harder and a wire broke just outside of the channel to the switch compartment. Basically all the wires were crammed so tightly that I can figure out how to get them out, and I don't want to break them all making it even harder!! By the way they used shielded wire from the pot to the switch.
Any body have any suggestions?

The only suggestion I have is, don't rewire the house.
What?

Sorry. I tried. But I don't have anything polite to say about this. I just hope it's all a really bad joke.

Must be one of thoes guiars without conduit pipe.
1. Drill pilot-holes to get to the rest of the wire.
2. Drill and fit conduit, saves using shielded wire.
Or just go Bluetooth / Wi-Five.

The channels are filled with goop to keep wires from rattling. You're doomed.

Drill speed holes all through the body.

Talk about getting started all wrong. You should never attack a guitar with aplomb. A peach or a pear, an apricot, even an ordinary apple, maybe.

The only logical move you could make now is attack your guitar with a coconut. We'll be waiting for the video...

I've had two pots of coffee this morning and I am bouncing off the walls. Do you think another pot would help calm me down? Should I check the bias on the coffee maker? Would that help?

It's only 11 degrees below zero--should I go and shovel the snow from one side of the yard to the other?

Come on, people. It's only been 27 seconds since my last post--what's taking you so long to respond?

I would have responded sooner, but you got me to thinking (sounds dangerous, eh?) ...... and I HAD to check the bias of my drip-coffee maker. I was shocked when I opened it up and discovered that, not only wasn't there an unused triode, there were no vacuum tubes at all!

Do you happen to have a schematic and layout for converting the timer and clock to point-to-point tube driven circuit?

Use just about any CBS era silver face layout--they look like they would be best used for a coffee maker instead of a guitar amp.

So that would be the Silver Face Drip Edge model? Makes sense ...... drip edge for a drip coffee maker. Thanks! :)
