Teach a man to ranch and he'll invite you to a butt-kickin BBQ.

Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a night.

Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

My deep thought of today...

Why is it that oil is priced "by the barrel"?...when it's never packaged in barrels?...while things that do come in barrels, aren't ever priced "by the barrel? Like rodeo clowns, for instance.

I get that one...You're IT!!
In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.

Dial the clock back to the late 1800's when oil wells were first drilled in Pennsylvania - 40 gallon barrels were the norm then for oil. And if you want to convert the modern per barrel price, 40 gallons is still the figure, not the more commonly found 55 gallon steel drum.

Now, bring on the clowns.

Haven't run out of meds yet have we... You'll get to be the grumpy old man just as soon as you do. There's people on TAG who outdo me by quite a lot: Martin, gingertube, Jana, Lefty and about 113 more and that's an underestimate. (please don't be p'd of if you're not mentioned, yer all fantastic!)

Nice to know I have a friend in Sacramento though, if I ever get back there we'll have to have a confab with rognab.

back to creepy clowns. Which clown is creepier?

well technical experience and theory is one thing, and i dont think anybody can claim any sort of title here on TAG (too many amazing individuals)

but you just have the all around type of real world experience that i just really appreciate you sharing with us. you know, you suggest things because you have ran into them in real life and not just what the theory says, does that make sense? you need both obviously but its great to have a reference such as yourself.

plus, i know that you dont buy into the whole mojo or vintage fairy dust stuff (neither do i), so i always take your input to heart

your just a real world guy that fixes things for a living, exactly my kind :D

rock on leo!

Well by golly Neal that's a helluva encomium (LG takes bow). Sorta makes up for a hit I took on another forum about a year ago from a young fellow @ 30 who's smart all right but has no room in his life for us ol' geezers and our experience. Muchas garcias and all that. Again, I stand on the shoulders of giants, and they're getting mighty tired of it... I can easily be outdone by a lot of our TAG correspondents.

Even though everyone outdoes me, I still refuse to believe it.
