2203... Effects Loop
I have a 1959 MV on the bench... But when I looked inside it says 2203 everywhere. Anyway...
What are the best options for an effects loop? Does it need to be active? This amp sounds SO cool I don't want to kill the tone. Just want to add a little reverb. Anyone have favorites?

Matt, I think you are right.
I found some stuff on the web...
The Metro Loop Looks like one of the better choices for SS.

Or, this one... the tube way.

Here's an idea for you. I use something very similar on my D'Mars ODS.
With respect, 10thtx
There is a pretty decent selection of FX loop types here:

Re: 2203... Effects Loop
You could try the sd60 fx loop . it makes a great MV too. Not sure how it compares to other loops

Re: 2203... Effects Loop
Matt, I haven't seen anything as far as a schematic for the Metro loop... Probably similar to the London Power... ?
10th Tx, you da man! Lots to read...I already have Merlin's book and TUT book open.
c bass, I thought about that and looked it over. Could it really be that simple? How many volts of signal can you get on that send Jack?

Go with the Metro loop. It won't change the sound. Those are great.
I have never liked a tube loop.

Search on the SDM (Steve Miller) loop and you'll be very, very close....matt h wrote:is there a schematic, or at least a ball-park/representative schematic for that metro loop? Not remotely looking to clone (or include a loop) just curious what it does, beyond marketing, to make it so magical.

Re: 2203... Effects Loop
The Metro loop works really well.
But, the Super Drive loop is also very good. I used that loop in the last mod I did before my surgery. But, I used a JAN 5751 instead of the usual 12AX7.

Learning to learn...
Re: 2203... Effects Loop
I just use a simple interrupt loop and have no problems with it. I do have one of Mojotone's loop boards (similar to metro's) but haven't installed it yet.

Re: 2203... Effects Loop
I really would like to come up with a PCB trace/layout that can be shared here... Instead of buying the kits. I love the idea of all tube but it seems like some of the better SS loops get better reviews as far as not coloring tone. Seems that the SS loops that fall short do so because the input devices used don't have enough headroom. The particular amp that I'm working with doesn't have room for another tube where it really needs to go. Some people don't want to put a hole in their amp... with another tube drawing more filament current. More reason to go with the SS.
I may have to get one of the Metros just to see what type of devices they are using.
It does seem to be the cream of the crop, tube loops included.
I would be willing to make a few extra boards for cost if anyone wants to help.

The Mojo SS loop board already ripped Steve off.

Re: 2203... Effects Loop
Metroloop looks cool but 85 bucks? Plus shipping is pretty steep for a circuit board with a couple of bucks of parts on it.
